How to turn an odd count peyote pattern into an even count peyote pattern

Some patterns are made in odd count peyote so that the symmetry is optimal. However some of you do not like weaving in odd peyote.

If you want to transform an odd count peyote pattern into an even count peyote pattern, you must choose a color and add a column on the left. In the example below, I transformed the odd peyote into even peyote on the left. If you read directly from the diagram, you can add a column with changes. If you directly read the word chart, it will be easier to add a unique color.

You can then make a border on the other side of the same color which will make the diagram symmetrical again...

peyote pair et peyote impair

To modify the word chart, you must add on the first row a D bead at the start of the row, then then a D bead at the start of all even rows (i.e. those with an R):

Example of the word chart from the model above:

Odd count peyote word chart :

Row 1&2 (R) (1)A, (1)C, (1)D, (1)E, (1)B, (2)E, (1)C, (1)A, (1)C, (2)E, (1)B, (1)E, (1)D, (1)C, (1)A
Row 3 (L) (1)A, (1)D, (1)E, (1)D, (1)A, (1)D, (1)E, (1)D, (1)A
Row 4 (R) (1)C, (1)E, (1)D, (2)C, (1)D, (1)E, (1)C
